Euro 2020 Predictions: Our Favorite Early Euro Picks

Sure, Euro 2020 is a year overdue and still a few weeks away from actually starting, but as we inch closer to the actual tournament itself, sportsbooks have begun ramping up betting markets with props and futures to tide you over until June 11.

With domestic leagues wrapping up, the Champions League final on the horizon and the clock ticking on club football, online shop Bovada already has more than enough betting markets opened to whet your footy betting appetite.

We’ll use this space between now and the conclusion of the tournament as a blog-style article to keep the best Euro 2020 betting predictions going. Be sure to bookmark this page as there will undoubtedly be more betting markets opened up in the weeks to come.

Without further ado, let’s get into some Euro Cup soccer predictions!

Harry Kane – England’s Top Scorer (+150)

Coming off yet another prolific season at the club level, albeit a tumultuous one at Tottenham, Kane will undoubtedly (barring disaster) be leading the line for England in Euro 2020 this summer.

Kane’s been more than just a club-level talisman, though. He’s coming off a Golden Boot at the 2018 FIFA World Cup with six goals as England reached the semifinals before getting knocked out by Croatia.

Elsewhere for the Three Lions, Raheem Sterling at +500, Marcus Rashford and Phil Foden at +600 and Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Jadon Sancho at +1200 populate the top of the oddsboard to be top scorer.

There’s no question England has talent, but whether it’s enough for the side to lift the trophy at the end, despite being co-favored with France, remains to be seen. It may be a safer option to take Kane to be the team’s top scorer as opposed to the tournament Golden Boot winner at +500.

North Macedonia – To Advance From Group C (+240)

Only Hungary (+400) has longer odds to advance from a group than North Macedonia, but the Risovi look like they might be a sneaky-good side and worth a wager in this market.

The team undoubtedly features some talented players as Enis Bardhi of Levante, Elif Elmas of Napoli, Egjan Alioski of Leeds, Ilija Nestorovski of Udinese and 37-year-old Goran Pandev of Genoa will look to lead the team into the knockout stage. The group, while still tough, will be manageable. Group C features the Netherlands, Ukraine and Austria with the Dutch as -250 chalk to win the group.

North Macedonia is here thanks to the playoff path that saw them beat Kosovo 2-1 and then Georgia 1-0 thanks to a Pandev goal.

Remember Iceland at Euro 2016? North Macedonia could be Euro 2020’s Iceland.

Belgium - To Reach the Semis (+125)

Belgium is second on the oddsboard to win the tournament at +600 but with a stacked field atop that board, reaching the semis feels like the safer wager here.

The group is perfectly manageable with Denmark, Finland and Russia the other tenants in Group B. Belgium is the -165 fave to win the group and a gaudy -2500 to advance from the group. The Danes at +250 might pose a little bit of a threat to win the group, but Belgium is a talented side that should get to the knockout stage – whether winning the group or otherwise – fairly easily.

Two knockout-stage wins would be all that is required for cashing this bet and if they win Group B, it looks as if they’ll play third place from Group A, D, E or F. Group F could be the tough one here as that features a trio of heavyweights in Germany, France and Portugal.

Belgium is talented and deep. It features superstar players like Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne, Inter Milan’s Romelu Lukaku and Real Madrid’s Eden Hazard, although he’s certainly had a tough adjustment to life in Spain after leaving Chelsea.

Matthijs de Ligt – Best Young Player of the Tournament (+750)

Matthijs de Ligt is a 21-year-old center back who plies his trade for Serie A titan Juventus and if you follow the sport closely, you first heard about this guy when he was still a teenager.

At 17, he became the youngest player ever to play in a European final when Ajax faced Manchester United in the Europa League final back in 2017.

Our Recommended Euro 2020 Betting Sites

Big things were expected of him both at the club and international level and he’s largely delivered. He helped lead Ajax to a storybook Champions League semifinal appearance in 2019 and parlayed that into a big-money move to Juventus.

We didn’t get to see the Dutch at the 2018 FIFA World Cup after they failed to qualify, so this summer’s Euro 2020 will be the first real chance to catch a glimpse of his defensive prowess on the international stage.

He’s been capped by the Netherlands 26 times and has even contributed a pair of goals: one against Germany and the other against England.

England’s Phil Foden is the favorite in this market at +350 but de Ligt has some very nice value. The Netherlands is the -250 favorite to win Group C which, as mentioned above, also features Ukraine, Austria and North Macedonia.

This is a favorable group for the Dutch to win, hence the odds, and one where de Ligt could shine. The Dutch could get through with some clean sheets and maybe even feature a de Ligt goal. He will feature prominently for the side at this tournament.

Expect big things from the big center back as the Dutch look to re-establish themselves at a major international tournament.
