FA Cup Odds: Chelsea Favored

Chelsea has won three of the past five FA Cups and is favored against rival Liverpool as the top English soccer tournament kicks off May 5.

Three-way betting has Cheslea at +140 while Liverpool sits at +200 at most online sportsbooks such as Sportsbook.

With their EPL season in tatters thanks to a poor run recently, Liverpool hasn't much else to play for and can let it all hang out next month when they face their EPL rivals in the final of the FA Cup.

Liverpool advanced to the Cup final after edging Everton 2-1 in the semifinals. Luis Suarez tied the game in the 62nd minute following an early Nikica Jelavic goal for Everton, while Andy Carroll potted home the Sportsbook in the 87th minute.

Chelsea dominated Tottenham Hotspur in their semifinal matchup, routing them 5-1. Scoring for Chelsea in the total blowout were Didier Drogba, Juan Mata, Ramires, Frank Lampard and Florent Malouda.

This is the ninth time the two sides have met up in FA Cup competition, but it's the first time they've ever faced off in the Cup final. In those nine matchups, Chelsea has a slight advantage with five wins.

In EPL play Liverpool visited Chelsea way back on November 20 and came away with a 2-1 victory. Glen Johnson scored late in the 87th minute to help Liverpool steal the win. Maxi Rodriguez also scored for the Reds, while Sturridge scored the lone goal for Chelsea.

Despite that win early this season in EPL play Liverpool is the underdog in the FA Cup final. The current match odds list Liverpool as a +200 underdog, while Chelsea is a +140 favorite.

The draw odds for the match were set at +225. The odds for both teams to outright with the FA Cup see Liverpool at 6/5 and Chelsea at 2/3.

One bright spot for Liverpool is that they expect to have Steven Gerrard back on the pitch for the final. He missed Liverpool's last EPL game against West Bromwich with a hamstring injury.

Before the final Liverpool has two EPL game's on the fixture, with Norwich City on April 28 and Fulham on May 1. Chelsea also have two games before the final with Queen Park Rangers on April 29 and Newcastle United on May 2.
