France looks to continue unbeaten UEFA Nations League start vs Germany

Kylian Mbappe UEFA Nations League France Germany soccer betting odds

Recent World Cup winner France has gone 14 matches unbeaten across all competitions and will look to extend that run taking on Germany in the UEFA Nations League on Tuesday night. The French have taken four points from two outings in the new-look tournament thus far, while the Germans are stuck on a single point after suffering a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Holland last time out.

SHARK BITES
  • France has won seven of the 15 previous meetings between these two teams.
  • The last two matches have ended in a draw.
  • Germany has lost five matches in a calendar year for the first time in over three decades.

France expecting to extend unbeaten run of form

The French built on their goalless draw with Germany in this tournament with a 2-1 win over Holland. Now, they have a chance to make it seven points from a possible nine and establish themselves as the team to beat in this group.

Forwards Kylian Mbappe and Olivier Giroud were both on the scoresheet in their most recent victory and they will fancy their chances against an out-of-sorts Germany side. German boss Joachim Low looks to be stumbling from one crisis to another at present, with the team having won none of its last three competitive fixtures, their only win in that period being a 2-1 friendly triumph against Peru.

It is therefore of little surprise that France comes into this one as the clear favorite to take all three points. You can back the Blues to pick up another win at just -154, with Germany out at +375 to do the same. A draw is priced in the middle, at +300.

Goals for France looking likely

France has arguably the most potent attack in international football right now and we are expecting goals in this one. It is of course never easy trying to predict the exact outcome of any match, which is why the rewards are so high, with a comfortable 3-1 win for France on Tuesday night coming in at +1200.

That in turn would allow you to back both OVER 2.5 goals in the game, at -125, and both teams to score, which is also priced short at -138. If you are looking to boost those potential winnings, then do not forget about combo betting.

For example, you can back a France win and both teams to score at +250, while you can also bet simply on the winning margin than an exact scoreline. France is at +260 to win by a single goal (with Germany out at +500 to do the same), while you can back the Blues to win by a two-goal margin at +375, and if you think they can win by a difference of three goals then you can back that particular outcome at the competitive price of +700.

In-form France should dominate out-of-sorts Germany

Germany’s fall from grace has been as quick as it has been astounding. And given the difference in both form and morale ahead of this mouth-watering clash, we are fully expecting the French to take advantage of their opponent’s current malaise.

France is at just +150 to score in both halves – as it did in that win over Holland – while you can back them to win both halves at +350. Meanwhile, if you think France can win this game to nil (without Germany scoring a goal) then you can back that result at a price of +200.

Young PSG forward Mbappe scored in that win over Holland and we like the look of him to hit the back of the net once again. The teenager is at just +130 to score at any time during the game, while you can back him at +450 to score either the first or last goal of the match.

For Germany, their best chance of a goal would look to lie at the feet of Timo Werner. The RB Leipzig striker is at +220 to find the back of the net at any time during the game.
