The final day of the Italian league season at the San Siro on Sunday sees both teams needing three points for very different reasons, as Inter Milan takes on Empoli. Inter needs all three points to be sure of a top-four finish and Champions League qualification, while Empoli is still looking for points to stay out of the relegation zone.

Inter must make home advantage count
It has been a nervy ending to the season for Inter Milan with the side winning just one of its last five league outings and that came against bottom club Chievo, which has won just two matches this term. Inter still sits fourth in the table, meaning that their destiny is in their own hands, and three points on home soil will make sure they secure that crucial top-four finish.
It will be no walkover, however, against an Empoli side that has put together a run of form that has taken the club outside of the relegation zone with just one match left to play. Having won their last three matches in a row, Empoli now sits outside the drop zone, meaning that their fate too rests in their own hands.
But it is Inter that comes into this match as the clear favorite to grab three hugely important points. You can back the home side to win at just -250 while Empoli is out at +600 to do the same. A draw is priced in the middle at +375.
Inter should be able to get the job done
While Empoli has been in excellent form over the last few weeks, there is simply no denying that the technical quality of this Inter team is superior by far, and they should be able to take the points. It is of course never easy trying to predict the exact scoreline in any football match, but a comfortable 2-0 victory for Inter comes in at +700 and looks to be worth backing when you think about the starting lineup of both these sides.
Such a result would then also allow you to back UNDER 2.5 goals in the game, which comes in at +150, as well as a “No” to both teams scoring, which is at slightly shorter odds of +105.
