Premier League 2016-17 Props: Odds to go Unbeaten

If you believe 2016-17 can produce another Premier League miracle, why not drop some coin on some teams to go unbeaten. The odds are long and it has not happened since 2003-04 when Arsenal completed the feat. The Gunners were only the second team ever to finish an English football campaign unbeaten and were the first since Preston North End was labeled “Invincible” after their unbeaten 1889 Premier League season.

Online shop Bovada has put up odds for teams to complete the feat this season and has pegged Manchester City (+10000) as the favorites to do so. 100/1 odds seem about right as the two unbeaten seasons in Premier League history came about 100 years apart.

The closest a team has come to going unbeaten since Arsenal did it in 2003-04 came when Chelsea went 29-8-1 in 2004-05 — just a year after Thierry Henry and the Gunners became the second "Invincibles". Their only loss came in a 1-0 result vs Manchester City in the ninth game of the season. They did, however, set a record for points in a Premier League season that year, illustrating just how hard it is to go unbeaten.

Chelsea is +15000 to go the entire 2016-17 season without a loss, along with Manchester United and Arsenal. Arsene Wenger, Arsenal’s Manager when they went unbeaten, is still kicking around and is the only living manager with experience going an entire Premier League season without losing – this isn’t advice, by the way, it's just a fun fact.
