Harry Kane Tottenham Hotspur Premier League

The North London Derby means everything to the diehard supporters of Tottenham and Arsenal, but Saturday’s clash has Premier League title implications which makes this edition of the NLD the biggest in years.

Shark Bites
  • Seven of the previous 10 Premier League meetings at White Hart Lane have gone OVER 2.5.
  • Tottenham is 3-0 in their last three home games in the Premier League.
  • Arsenal has lost their last three games in all competitions.

Online book Bet365 is currently offering Spurs at +138 in moneyline markets, while Arsenal is +225 and the Draw is +240. The total is tabbed at 2.5 with OVER -125 and UNDER +100.

Tottenham Hotspur enter the weekend in second place in the league table, three points ahead of hated-rivals Arsenal and three behind Leicester. Both North London clubs had a sensational chance to gain ground on table-toppers Leicester City, but they squandered a golden opportunity as Spurs lost 1-0 at West Ham and Arsenal suffered a tough 2-1 home loss to Swansea.

Spurs have had the slight edge when hosting Arsenal at White Hart Lane in recent years. Tottenham has won four of the previous six versus the Gunners in front of their home supporters and new Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino has yet to lose versus Arsenal in league play (one win, two draws).

The reverse fixture was a 1-1 draw at the Emirates that featured a 32’ goal from Harry Kane before Kieran Gibbs drew Arsenal even in the 77th minute.

Speaking of Kane, the local product is always up for a North London Derby and has bagged three goals in the previous two meetings with Arsenal. As the focal point of the Tottenham attack, he feels like a solid wager to score at anytime at +120.

Arsenal heads into the contest ravaged by injury as Laurent Koscielny and Petr Cech get added to the long list of unavailable players. That list already features Santi Cazorla and Alex Oxlande-Chamberlain among a slew of others.

The North London Derby is always one of the biggest games on the calendar and with the two adversaries meeting with so much at stake, it just adds a new wrinkle to the always-entertaining fixture.
