Richarlison Scores Twice As Brazil Tops Serbia

Everything went according to plan for Brazil in their first match of the World Cup as they came out with a 2-0 win over Serbia on Thursday. Richarlison was the star of the show with two goals in the second half, including a beautiful bicycle kick to cap off his brace. The Brazilians outshot the Serbs 22-5 and didn’t allow a single shot on target.

If there is one thing to nitpick about Brazil’s performance, it was the first half, where they struggled to break through Serbia’s defense. The Brazilians loosened up as the match went on, though, and could have easily scored three or four goals in the second half alone. They’ll look to bring that confidence into their next match against Switzerland.

Embolo Scores Lone Goal As Switzerland Defeats Cameroon

Switzerland also picked up a win in their first match of the group stage, downing Cameroon 1-0 on Thursday. Breel Embolo claimed the lone goal of the game, scoring just a couple of minutes into the second half against his country of birth. It was an otherwise evenly played match with Cameroon narrowly outshooting Switzerland 8-7.

The Swiss will be pleased with the result as they’ve now got a real opportunity to advance to the knockout stage. Head coach Murat Yakin called his side “the best Switzerland national team to have ever existed” ahead of the tournament, so the expectation is certainly that they will continue to impress.

Brazil vs Switzerland Game Prop: Brazil To Record A Clean-Sheet Win (+125)

Brazil is a nation usually touted for its creativity, flair and skill, but this squad in particular has demonstrated some serious defensive prowess. The Brazilians held the Serbs without a shot on target in their Sportsbook match while holding nearly 60 percent of possession. Another strong performance like that could earn them a clean-sheet win over Switzerland.

Brazil: Keys To Victory

As good as Brazil has been historically, they’ve actually struggled against Switzerland with a 3-4-2 all-time record including international friendlies. The two nations faced off at the 2018 FIFA World Cup and played to a 1-1 draw. Brazil will have to be sharp and bring the same poise they displayed in the second half of their Sportsbook win if they’re going to stay perfect.

Switzerland: Keys To Victory

The Swiss struggled to generate many chances against Cameroon – the weakest team in the group. Obviously the challenge will be much greater against Brazil, the top-ranked nation in the world. Can Switzerland turn up the intensity and create a few more chances? They’ll have to in order to compete with the Brazilians.
