Antunes, Schalter Both Go for Sixth Winning Super Contest Mark in Seven Weeks

Team OddsShark leader Paulo Antunes has gone 4-1 each of the past two weeks in the Super Contest at the Westgate SuperBook, climbing all the way into a tie for 13th place among the record 2,748 entrants heading into Week 10. Antunes (aka Bossa Nova Kid) has scored 29 out of a possible 45 points so far and sits just three back of first place, with the winner taking home an all-time best top prize of more than $1.3 million.

Ty Schalter is also currently only a half-point out of the top 50 places that will be paid out at the end of the season with 27.5, and he is hoping to post his third straight winning week as well. Like Antunes, Schalter has winning marks in five of the previous six weeks. However, an 0-4-1 performance in Week 7 dropped Schalter out of the top 50, although he has bounced back with a pair of 3-2 weeks to stay within range.

In Week 10, Antunes and Schalter are split on two games, the Minnesota Vikings (-1) against the Washington Redskins and the Chicago Bears (-5.5) versus the Green Bay Packers. Antunes is riding with both underdogs (Redskins and Packers) while Schalter is backing the favorites (Vikings and Bears). The duo is in agreement, though, on the Jacksonville Jaguars (-3.5) hosting the Los Angeles Chargers, which is the second-most popular consensus pick in the Super Contest overall. There are 719 contestants who picked the Jaguars while the Buffalo Bills (+3) topped the list with 1,182 selections hosting the New Orleans Saints. Schalter is one of those supporting the Bills.

Buffalo is the most popular play among Team OddsShark members as well, with 12 of the 25 taking the home underdog. The Atlanta Falcons (-3) were the second consensus choice of the group with 10 picks, including 2016 team champion Frank Schwab, who is in fifth place in this year’s standings behind newcomers Jason Kirk and Richard Roeper. Washington and Jacksonville tied as the third-most selected teams by the group (nine).
