Prime-Time Games Appeal to Team OddsShark in Week 3 of SuperContest

The top two NFL picks for Team OddsShark in Week 3 of the world-famous SuperContest at the Westgate SuperBook just so happen to be featured in prime time, as the home underdogs in both the Sunday and Monday Night Football games are their most popular plays. The Washington Redskins (+3) and Arizona Cardinals (+3) are hosting those matchups, respectively, and were selected eight times each among the 25 team members who make five NFL picks each week in the SuperContest.

The Redskins host the Oakland Raiders on Sunday night, and their opponent was the top consensus pick overall, chosen by 924 of the record 2,748 entrants (34 percent). With the Top 5 consensus picks going 3-7 over the first two weeks, maybe it is a good thing that the team is riding with Washington rather than Oakland. The Top 5 went 0-5 in Week 1 before rebounding with a 3-2 mark in Week 2. However, the Raiders have gone 10-3 against the spread in their last 13 road games and 3-0 straight up and ATS in their past three visits to the Redskins, according to the OddsShark NFL Database.

On Monday, the Dallas Cowboys visit the Cardinals, who have won the last four meetings both SU and ATS. Dallas has also dropped seven of the previous eight games played at Arizona. That is not a great betting trend for Team OddsShark co-leader Michaela Vernava, who has picked the Cowboys for the third time in as many weeks. Vernava is one of three team members currently sitting at 7-3 atop the group standings along with Frank Schwab and Ty Schalter. Schwab is the defending team champion.

Kelly Stewart (aka kellyinvegas) and newcomer Jason Kirk already have one prime-time winner in the bank, as each of them picked the San Francisco 49ers (+2.5) against the Los Angeles Rams in the Week 3 Thursday Night Football game. The 49ers lost 41-39 but pulled off the cover late despite missing a potential game-tying two-point conversion. Not surprisingly, that was the least selected game overall in Week 3.
