Steelers, Broncos Top SuperContest Consensus NFL Picks for Week 9

Two road teams playing key divisional matchups that are listed as Pick’em games are the most popular SuperContest plays at the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook in Week 9 of the NFL season. The Denver Broncos (6-2) and Pittsburgh Steelers (4-3) are viewed as the main threats to the New England Patriots (7-1) in the AFC, and they were each selected by more than 600 of the record 1,854 entrants in the SuperContest field. The Patriots are Super Bowl favorites and on their bye this week along with five other teams.

The Broncos top the Week 9 consensus NFL picks, chosen 695 times as they visit the Oakland Raiders (6-2) in the Sunday Night Football game. Many still do not think the Raiders are for real and believe they will fall to defending Super Bowl champion Denver. Meanwhile, the Steelers were taken by 604 and take on the Baltimore Ravens (3-4) in a much easier matchup on paper, although the visiting team is just 2-5 straight up in the past seven meetings, according to the OddsShark NFL Database. The perceived value with Pittsburgh though revolves around the return of quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, who will reportedly be back on the field less than three weeks after minor knee surgery.

The Broncos and Steelers are the top two plays for Team OddsShark as well, both picked by 10 of the 24 team members. Pittsburgh has the biggest discrepancy between Baltimore among members, with only two selecting the Ravens, who are coming off their bye as losers of four straight following a 3-0 start. By comparison, four members picked Oakland, a team with an NFL-best five road wins that has earned just one at home. Denver has won eight of the previous nine meetings.

Team OddsShark co-leaders Nick Kostos and Anthony Riccobono share two picks in Week 9, the Broncos and Indianapolis Colts (3-5), who visit the Green Bay Packers (4-3) as 7.5-point road underdogs on the SuperContest card. The other three plays for Kostos are the Los Angeles Rams (+3), Tennessee Titans (+5) and Buffalo Bills (+6.5) while Riccobono has the Kansas City Chiefs (-7), Philadelphia Eagles (+2.5) and New Orleans Saints (-3.5). They have picked up 22.5 out of a possible 40 points so far to put themselves atop the group standings. View all Week 9 picks from the team right here.
