SuperContest: Cardinals The Top Pick

For the third time this season, the Arizona Cardinals (5-2) are the top consensus NFL pick in the 2015 SuperContest at the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook. The Cardinals are 5-point road favorites against the Cleveland Browns (2-5) on the Week 8 SuperContest Card after just covering the spread in their Monday Night Football game versus the Baltimore Ravens (1-6).

Arizona was a 7.5-point home favorite last week on the SuperContest Card and held on for a 26-18 victory when Baltimore quarterback Joe Flacco threw an interception in the end zone with 13 seconds remaining.

The Cardinals were selected by 538 of the 1,727 contestants (31 percent) in the record field followed by the New York Jets (4-2), Green Bay Packers (6-0), Chicago Bears (2-4) and Denver Broncos (6-0).

The Jets are 2.5-point road chalk visiting the Oakland Raiders (3-3) and were picked on 530 entries. The Bears are 1.5-point home underdogs against the Minnesota Vikings (4-2) and were chosen 499 times.

packers vs broncos split for contest

But the most intriguing and popular matchup of Week 8 will happen on Sunday Night Football when Denver hosts Green Bay in a battle of unbeaten teams. The Broncos are 3-point home dogs versus the Packers, marking just the second time with quarterback Peyton Manning that the team has not been favored at Mile High.

Green Bay was selected by 511 contestants compared to 470 for Denver, which means more than half the contestants (57 percent) will have action on this game alone.

However, Team OddsShark made the Broncos their most popular play, as they were picked by nine of the 21 members (43 percent) compared to seven for the Pack.

Among those choosing Denver as one of their five NFL picks are the Odds Shark Super Computer, group leader David Fucillo from SB Nation, Jason McIntyre from The Big Lead, Pete Prisco from CBS Sports and die-hard fan Kelly Stewart (aka kellyinvegas).

The Super Computer is tied for fifth place in the group standings with Prisco, one point behind McIntyre and four back of Fucillo. Stewart, currently tied for last place in the group with Randall the Handle, is picking her team for the first time this season.
