SuperContest Top 5 Consensus Picks Looking to Break 12-Game Skid

No contestants in the SuperContest at the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook want any part of the Top 5 consensus NFL picks selected by the record 1,854 who entered this year. That’s because they have gone 0-10 the past two weeks and lost 12 straight heading into Week 4. Unfortunately, Team OddsShark leader Nick Kostos had two of the Top 5 last week. Fortunately, he went 3-0 on his other three picks to improve to 11-4 overall this season, just two points off the lead for the grand prize of nearly $900,000.

Kostos had gone 4-1 each of the first two weeks, and he finds himself on two of the most popular plays again in Week 4. That includes the New York Jets, who were picked 661 times to lead the way as 2.5-point home underdogs against the Seattle Seahawks.

But Kostos was not the only member of Team OddsShark to take the Jets, as eight others joined him in fading the Seahawks. They were the team’s most popular play as well, followed by the New England Patriots (-5.5), Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+3) and San Francisco 49ers (+2.5), who were each chosen by eight members to tie for second.

The Bucs host the Denver Broncos, who are the second-most popular play overall, selected 592 times. The Patriots were picked 502 times against the Buffalo Bills and the 49ers 460 versus the Dallas Cowboys to rank fourth and fifth, respectively. The Carolina Panthers (-3) were selected 541 times to rank third visiting the Atlanta Falcons.

The Tampa Bay-Denver game was selected the most by Team OddsShark, with seven members also siding with the Broncos. The second-most popular game within the group is the Monday Night Football matchup between the Minnesota Vikings (-4.5) and New York Giants. The Vikings have lost in their last seven MNF appearances both straight up and against the spread, according to the OddsShark NFL Database. Seven team members picked them while five others sided with the Giants, including Kostos, who has a two-game lead over Anthony Riccobono  and Rob Pizzola in the group standings.
