Team OddsShark Super Contest Week 6 Recap

It was not a stellar performance by any means for Team OddsShark overall in Week 6 of the SuperContest at the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook. However, six of the 24 members did manage to finish with winning records, and four of them currently reside in the Top 5 of the group standings. Among them are Rob Pizzola (3-2), Paulo Antunes (3-2), Hank Lockwood (3-1-1) and Jon Anik (3-1-1), who are all still chasing Nick Kostos (2-3) for the team lead, as he continues to sit in first place with 17 points.

Kostos finished under .500 for the second time in three weeks while Anthony Riccobono narrowed the gap slightly by going 2-2-1 to pull within a half point of the lead. Pizzola and Antunes are both just one point off the pace with Lockwood and Anik each a half point behind them in a tie for fifth place in the group. Anik has been the hottest member of Team OddsShark over the past two weeks with a 7-2-1 mark.

The other two members who finished over .500 in Week 6 were Mike Cole and David Fucillo, who led the team last year with 53 points out of a possible 85 (62 percent) to finish in a tie for 24th overall among the entire field of 1,727 entrants. “Fooch” finally put together his first winning week of 2016 and finds himself just six points behind Kostos.

The bad news is that more than half of the group had losing records in Week 6, as 15 members were 2-3 or worse. Unfortunately, the OddsShark Super Computer was one of them, seeing its three-week run of winning marks end with a thud by going 0-5. Randall the Handle has seen the most dramatic shift after he looked like he was going to make a run at the group title. He is just 2-8 over the past two weeks following an 8-2 run.

The Top 5 consensus picks also turned in another losing week at 1-3-1 to fall to 8-21-1 overall. The lone winner was the Kansas City Chiefs, who were the most selected team in Week 6 as a Pick’em, chosen by 704 of the record 1,854 contestants (38 percent).
