Week 12 Team OddsShark SuperContest NFL Picks

Team OddsShark SuperContest NFL Picks Week 12

Of the 22 members of Team OddsShark, 10 of them decided to roll the dice by making picks on at least one of the three Thanksgiving NFL games in Week 12 of the SuperContest. The combined results were not pretty, with an aggregate record of 3-14, and four of the members losing two games already to put them in an early hole.

On opposite sides of the spectrum in terms of the current team standings, group leader Jon Anik and Matt Perrault managed to split their two Turkey Day picks. Meanwhile, Kelly Stewart, Mike Cole and Sam Panayotovich were not as fortunate with 0-2 marks.

Stewart and Cole both lost with the Detroit Lions (+3) and Washington Redskins (+7), who also burned Panayotovich was along with the Atlanta Falcons (+13). Frank Schwab lost with the Redskins and Falcons too but had a winner the Chicago Bears against the Lions. Nick Kostos (Washington), Will Brinson (Washington), Paulo Antunes (Detroit) and Robert Littal (Detroit) each suffered just one loss to kick off Week 12.

Four Teams Equally Split as Team’s Top Week 12 Picks

It is hard to believe, but four teams qualified as the most popular picks for Team OddsShark in Week 12, with the New York Giants (+6), Pittsburgh Steelers (-3), Cleveland Browns (+3) and Redskins all selected by eight members. Washington is obviously an early loser, and apparently more than a third of members are also fading last week’s top group play in the Philadelphia Eagles, who disappointed the more than half of them (12) that picked the defending Super Bowl champions then. Philadelphia is hosting New York and beat its NFC East rival badly 34-13 on the road in Week 6.

Patriots the No. 1 Consensus Play Overall Following Bye Week

The New England Patriots are 12-3 straight up and 8-6-1 against the spread in their last 15 games after a bye, according to the OddsShark NFL Database, and they visit the New York Jets as 9.5-point road favorites in Week 12. The Patriots are the top pick by the record 3,123 entrants in the SuperContest, selected 1,007 times (32 percent).

Just do not tell them that New England was also 9-0 SU and 8-1 ATS in its previous nine games before a bye until falling 34-10 to the Tennessee Titans as a 6.5-point road favorite in Week 10. The Jets have also covered the past five home meetings and gone 7-2-1 ATS in the last 10 versus the Patriots despite losing 12 of 14 SU in the series.
