Week 9 Team OddsShark SuperContest NFL Picks

Minnesota Vikings Safety Jayron Kearse (27) rolls an imaginary bowling ball after making a tackle for a loss during an NFL game between the Minnesota Vikings and New Orleans Saints on October 28, 2018 at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Despite the SuperContest consensus Top 5 picks going a perfect 5-0 for the first time this season in Week 8, it was a rough one for most of the Top 10 in the Team OddsShark standings. Only four of the team members currently ranked in the Top 10 posted winning records at 3-2 or better, led by defending group champion Paulo Antunes who went 5-0. Sam Panayotovich, Jon Anik and James Alberino were the other three at 3-2 each to stay in the mix for the team title and bragging rights that go with it.

Randall the Handle went 2-3 but remains one point ahead of Panayotovich followed by Anik, who is two points back of the lead. Nick Kostos went 0-5 to fall from second place to fourth in the group, leading Antunes, Alberino and Kelly Stewart by only a half-point.

Vikings Top Consensus Pick for Second Time in Three Weeks

For the third straight week, an NFC North is the most selected team in the SuperContest, and for the second time during that stretch it is the Minnesota Vikings. Last week, the Green Bay Packers easily covered the spread as the biggest underdogs in the career of quarterback Aaron Rodgers at +9.5 versus the unbeaten Los Angeles Rams. The Vikings are 4.5-point home favorites this week hosting the Detroit Lions.

Minnesota was picked by 1,262 of the record 3,123 entrants (40.4 percent) in the SuperContest but surprisingly by just seven of the 22 Team OddsShark members. You can view the other Top 5 consensus picks in the SuperContest overall right here.

Team OddsShark Taking Titans as Their Most Popular Play in Week 9

You can bet most of the team will be watching this week’s Monday Night Football game between the Tennessee Titans and Dallas Cowboys very closely. That is because 12 of the 22 members (54.5 percent) have picked the Titans as 6.5-point road underdogs visiting the Cowboys. Only one member is riding with Dallas as a home favorite.

The Carolina Panthers (-6) are the second-most popular play among the group with nine selections followed by the Green Bay Packers (+6) and Pittsburgh Steelers (+3) as road underdogs with eight apiece. The Vikings are tied with the Denver Broncos (-1) and Washington Redskins (-1.5) for the fifth-ranked team pick as similar home favorites.
