Westgate Super Contest Week 12 Results

Week 12 was another struggle for the OddsShark Prediction Computer, but the top two members of Team OddsShark came through with identical 4-1 marks to increase their leads on the rest of the group.

The computer went 2-3 with losers on the Houston Texans (-1.5), Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+5.5) and Dallas Cowboys (-3.5). Dallas rallied back from a 21-10 halftime deficit by outscoring the New York Giants 14-0 in the third quarter but needed a late touchdown from wide receiver Dez Bryant with about a minute left just to win the game 31-28, falling just short of covering the spread.

The Cowboys were among the top SuperContest consensus picks in Week 12, selected by 355 of 1,403 contestants overall (25 percent). However, the computer did have a couple solid underdog winners, with the Washington Redskins (+9.5) and Miami Dolphins (+7) both hanging in there and covering on the road against the San Francisco 49ers and Denver Broncos, respectively. Neither of them were top consensus plays.

Two members of Team OddsShark who shared their NFL betting tips in last week’s SuperContest Smackdown video were among three in the group to lose only one pick in Week 12. Overall group leader Jason McIntyre from TheBigLead.com and former leader Todd Fuhrman actually had the exact same NFL picks, selecting the Buccaneers, Dolphins, Giants (+3.5), Minnesota Vikings (+9.5) and Seattle Seahawks (-6.5).

In addition to McIntyre and Fuhrman, Ben Eckstein from AmericasLine.com also went 4-1 with winners on the Vikings, Dolphins, Redskins and Indianapolis Colts (-14), who were the biggest favorites on the Week 12 SuperContest card. The last three team members who enjoyed winning weeks at 3-2 each were Adam Kramer from KegsNEggsBlog.com, Kelly Stewart from KellyInVegas.com and Rob Pizzola from TheScore.com.
