Canada’s Milos Raonic has advanced to the third round of the Australian Open after a 24 ace, 7-6, 7-6, 7-5 win against Spain’s Tommy Robredo. Milos will have revenge on his mind in Round 3 when he takes on Viktor Troicki, who came out on top the last time the two met.
Raonic, currently offered at -476 at online shop Sportsbook, has put together a very strong season thus far, including a title at the Brisbane International, where he defeated Roger Federer 6-4, 6-4 in the final.
Since last year’s U.S. Open, Raonic has just two defeats—one coming against Rafael Nadal (Shanghai Masters), and the other coming against Troicki (Beijing).
The Canadian heavy hitter has the 2-1 edge in career head-to-head matchups, but Troicki retired down 3-0 in the first set in their 2012 meeting in Tokyo. In that recent meeting in Beijing, Troicki won 6-4, 6-4.
While Troicki’s win against Raonic makes the value intriguing, it hasn’t been the easiest Sportsbook two rounds for the Serb. Troicki, who is presently +381 at Sportsbook, needed five sets to dispatch Daniel Munoz-de la Nava in the Sportsbook round and benefitted from 61 unforced errors from American Tim Smycsek in the following round.
On the Australian Open futures board at Sportsbook, Raonic is presently +4000 while Troicki is +50000.
