Murray Queues up Querrey in Quarterfinals

Despite playing on one good leg, Andy Murray has made it all the way to the quarters of the Championships at Wimbledon for the 10th straight time and he’ll be a massive favorite when he meets Sam Querrey in the Round of 8 on Wednesday.

  • Murray holds the 7-1 advantage in his all-time series against Querrey.
  • Murray and Querrey have met at Wimbledon just once. Murray won that match 7-5, 6-3, 6-4.
  • Querrey knocked Novak Djokovic out of last year's Championships at Wimbledon.

Murray had a little early trouble with his opponent last round but he did a good job at limiting the mileage on his body by putting Benoit Paire away in straight sets. That said, Murray has had an easy stretch thus far and Querrey will be just the second seeded player he’s faced.

The Scot has often looked hampered by his injury during his bid for consecutive Wimbledon titles and Querrey, who knocked off Jo-Wilfried Tsonga earlier in the bracket, is sounding the upset alert. He’s being offered at +400 over at Bovada to make it to the semifinal of a Grand Slam for the first time in his career.

Support will be in the Brit’s favor on Wednesday as he looks to make it to the semis at the All England Club for the eighth time in nine years.
