WTA Odds - Point Spread Betting

In order to ensure there’s an even betting field, oddsmakers provide underdogs with a point advantage in point spread betting. If a favorite had odds of -3.5, in order to cover the spread, that tennis player would have to win by four games. If the underdog had odds of +3.5, in order to win your wager, that tennis player would need to not lose by more than three games.

WTA Odds - Moneyline Bets

Moneyline wagers make up for the majority of the action when it comes to betting on women’s tennis. These straight up bets have tennis bettors picking who they think will outright win a tennis match. And because ties are not permitted in tennis, a Sportsbook must always be declared.

WTA Odds - Totals And OVER/UNDERS

Totals in tennis let you bet on the number of games or sets played in a match. The trick is, you have to determine whether that number will be OVER or UNDER the sportsbook’s set amount. If you think the total number of sets will exceed 3.5, then you would wager the OVER. If you think the total number of sets will be less than 3.5, you would wager the UNDER.

OVER/UNDER Betting

WTA Odds - Futures Bets

Placing a wager on a tennis tournament long in advance of the actual event is a futures bet. Most tennis bettors will wager on the biggest women’s tournaments with betting odds on the favorite to win Grand Slam events such the Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon, and US Open.

WTA Odds FAQ

Can I bet on the WTA?

Yes, you can bet on the WTA. You can make futures wagers and match bets on Sportsbooks, spreads, and totals. Futures relate to long-term events, like wagering on the Sportsbook of the Fed Cup. Sportsbooks analyze strengths of players taking part in a tournament before releasing odds. With matches, sportsbooks judge the strengths of the two women competing.

Who are the top female tennis players in the world?

The WTA is chalk full of talented female tennis players, including Australia’s own Ashleigh Barty. You will often see the Aussie near the top of the WTA odds, and world rankings. Other notable female tennis players include Simona Halep, Naomi Osaka, Sofia Kenin, Elina Svitolina, Karolina Pliskova, Bianca Andreescu, and Serena Williams.

What are the biggest WTA tournaments?

The biggest WTA tournaments are the four Grand Slam events. The US Open, Wimbledon, the Australian Open, and the French Open women’s tennis tournaments definitely generate the most attention. There are, however, a number of other exciting women’s tennis tournaments played around the world throughout the year that provide plenty of betting opportunities as well.
