Bellator 38 Fight Card Betting

Bellator will begin to expand its champions list as eight of the top contenders in the Light Heavyweight division battle for a semifinal spot in the Light Heavyweight tournament later in the season.

One of these fighters will be crowned as the first-ever Bellator Light Heavyweight champion at the end of Season 4. And, like with every Bellator card, the undercard will consist of local fighters fighting in front of a hometown crowd.

The fight that fans want to see the most on the Bellator 38 fight card is the Daniel Gracie vs. Tim Carpenter matchup. Carpenter is undefeated in his six fights so far, but he will be in against a fighter with ground skills like he’s never seen before. Gracie is a fourth-degree black belt who once fought in Pride.

Carpenter has won most of his fights with submissions but will need to abandon any thoughts of beating Gracie on the ground, regardless of any position he may gain. Gracie offers little in the way of striking skills, so it will come down to where the fight is fought to decide who will have the biggest advantage.

We expect that this fight will eventually find its way to the canvass, and when it does it will be the end for Carpenter.

Raphael Davis has been tearing through his opposition since 2006 and will bring a nine-fight win streak with him when he faces D.J. Linderman. Linderman is the current Sportfight Heavyweight champion and has only one loss in nine fights, but he will need to cut weight to fight in the Bellator Light Heavyweight tournament.

Davis should be too much for Linderman and should take it via unanimous decision.

Expect Nik Fekete to be the favorite against Richard Hale in their quarterfinal fight. He may only have four professional fights but the Extreme Couture teammate has an impressive wrestling background.

Hale will need to stay on his feet and out of the clinch to have a chance to win this one. Fekete should come at a good price and looks like the safest bet on the card.

Rounding out the main card on the Bellator 38 fight card will be Chris Davis against Christian M’Pumbu. Both fighters can finish a fight on the ground or by striking, and picking a Sportsbook in this one will essentially be a coin toss. We think we’ll wait to see what the lines are on this one and go with the underdog for the bigger potential payoff.
