Cyborg vs Anderson Betting Odds

Cris Cyborg once again proved she is the best featherweight fighter in the world with her unanimous decision victory over Holly Holm at UFC 219. However, it was not long before everyone started speculating who would be the next to face the unbeatable Cyborg.

“I say Megan Anderson,” Cyborg said at the UFC 219 post-fight press conference. “Because she is 145 pounds and I’d like my division to grow. They need to invest, you need to put the girls at 145.”

Anderson, who claimed the Invicta FC featherweight title after Cyborg left for the UFC, was originally scheduled to face the champion at UFC 214 in July 2017. However, personal issues forced Anderson off the card.

With a potential bout looming (maybe as soon as UFC 221 according to Cyborg), online sportsbook Bovada released odds for the bout. Cyborg opened as a hefty -500 favorite with Anderson coming back at +350.

Cyborg has not recorded a loss since her professional debut in May 2005. Since then, the Brazilian has been nearly unstoppable, going 19-0 with 1 NC. In those 20 bouts, including the overturned fight against Hiroko Yamanaka, Cyborg has racked up 17 knockouts, with 10 victories coming in the first round.

Anderson is the undisputed No. 2 true featherweight in the world with the Aussie riding a four-fight winning streak – all via knockout. Her technique has been growing rapidly since joining James Krause and Glory MMA and Fitness but her true strength is the natural power in her hands.
