Betting Predictions: Marcin Tybura vs Serghei Spivac

Listen, this is the worst UFC Fight Night of the year, perhaps even the last two or three years. Nothing is exciting, and the fighters are mid-tier at best. That said, I like a moneyline bet on Tybura.

Spivac impressed me heading into the Gane fight. I liked how he used his size and could trip and smash people, even when they knew it was coming. Then he faced Gane, who used his crafty kickboxing to repel clinch attempts and angle Spivac into trouble. "The Polar Bear" got crushed against the Cage, leaving Gane to tee off and score the KO. When his initial attacks failed, Spivac withered. He has nothing if his A1 gameplan works, and that's why I think Tybura is a smart underdog bet.

Tybura is roly-poly just like Spivac, but his boxing fundamentals at least offer a different look to complement his grappling. Spivac is still the better grappler, but Tybura might just be quicker in side-to-side movement and faster on his straight punches. I'd like to see "Tybur" keep the volume low early and establish a good 1-2 while he drains Spivac's tank. Even at 38 years old, Tybura can go the distance.

In the end, I'll bet Tybura does more damage, even if he surrenders some wasted time on the mat.

Tybura vs Spivac Best Bets

On top of the Tybura ML play at +125, I'll also play the OVER 2.5 rounds (-165) and a small bet on Tybura to win by decision (+400). This could be very wacky fight, and that weird chaos leaves us some grand betting opportunities.

Pick: Tybura to win (+125); OVER 2.5 Rounds (-165)
