Former NFL player Greg Hardy will reportedly make his professional MMA debut against Brandon Sayles on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender series this summer. Hardy is a sizable -350 favorite with Sayles coming back at +250.
Hardy is a perfect 3-0 in his amateur MMA career, with all three wins coming via knockout and none of the bouts lasting longer than 1:36. Hardy – who trains at American Top Team, one of the best gyms in the world – has parlayed his explosiveness and athleticism into quick victories over his often-overwhelmed opponents.
However, it won’t be easy for Hardy to overwhelm Sayles, a fighter with six pro fights and just one loss. The 37-year-old isn’t exactly a top prospect but has proven himself to be a difficult opponent with his lone defeat coming at the hands of UFC and Bellator veteran Chase Gormley.
This will be a big step up in competition for Hardy. It’s far from unwinnable – but we have never seen Hardy fight an opponent with any real experience or the physical stature to be able to go toe to toe with him.
- Greg Hardy -350
- Brandon Sayles +250
