Odds Analysis

Nunes has been an underdog in seven of her 12 fights in the Octagon, losing just one of those bouts, as a +230 dog against Cat Zingano in 2014. However, in her last two fights in the bantamweight division, she has been a massive favorite (average -550).

De Randamie has just one loss in the Octagon as well, but she has been favored in all but two of her seven UFC bouts. Most recently, she was a slight +105 underdog against Aspen Ladd, whom she knocked out in the first round to earn the title shot.

Nunes vs de Randamie Fight Analysis

We can likely expect a standup exchange in this fight as The Iron Lady has never landed a takedown in the Octagon, while Lioness has secured just five takedowns over her last six bouts. Nunes has won four of her last five bouts by knockout, three of them coming in the first round. Overall in the UFC, seven of her 11 wins have come by that method.

Meanwhile, three of de Randamie’s last five fights have also been knockout victories, with two coming in the first round. She did defeat Holly Holm in 2017 to win the women’s featherweight title but relinquished it because she didn’t want to defend against Cris Cyborg.

These two women fought in 2013 and it was a one-sided domination by Nunes. The current champ took de Randamie to the floor (the last time she has been taken down) and mauled her with a vicious ground and pound that ended in a first-round TKO victory. De Randamie fights long and has strong combinations but that reach will likely be compromised by the way that Nunes swarms her foes, giving little to no respect to their power and letting her strikes go.
