What Is Next For Rousey Betting Odds

It took just 48 seconds for Ronda Rousey’s triumphant return to end in disaster at UFC 207. In less time than it takes to get a cup of coffee in the morning, Rousey’s entire future in the sport of MMA became one big question mark.

Not long after her loss to Amanda Nunes, Rousey released a statement saying that she will “need to take some time to reflect and think about the future.”

What that future holds is anyone’s guess, but there are plenty of potential avenues that Rousey can pursue moving forward. No matter wins or losses, Rousey is still a big name and is worth plenty of dollars to the UFC and beyond. With all of that in mind, online book MyBookie has released odds as to what Rousey’s next move is.

One can assume that Rousey’s next step will be about her future in MMA. Rousey making another appearance in the Octagon comes in at +250, but the historic fighter retiring from the UFC comes in close behind at +400. I would not expect this decision any time soon, but it does seem likely that this is the decision she needs to make next before anything else.

However, there is some intriguing value in Rousey appearing in the WWE. Rousey was part of Wrestlemania 31 in 2015, when she entered the ring beside Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and took out Stephanie McMahon and Triple H. There have been numerous reports that the WWE brass want to bring in Rousey for at least another Wrestlemania appearance, if not more. This upcoming Wrestlemania is to be held in Orlando, Florida on April 2. There is a realistic chance that Rousey doesn’t address her MMA future but makes a surprise appearance on the road to Wrestlemania or at the granddaddy of them all.

One we can almost certainly rule out is Rousey joining Bellator. If Rousey wants to fight, there will always be an open door for her in the UFC. And the UFC is now owned by WME-IMG, which happens to be the same company that represents Rousey. There is almost no chance Rousey joins Bellator at all, but for that to happen first in 2017 is virtually impossible.
