UFC 225: Dos Anjos vs Covington Betting Odds

The interim welterweight title will be on the line when Rafael dos Anjos and Colby Covington face off at UFC 225 in Chicago on June 9. As of the morning of the fight, Covington found himself as the -140 favorite with dos Anjos coming back at +110.

Dos Anjos has found renewed life since jumping to the welterweight division, rattling off three straight victories over Tarec Saffiedine, Neil Magny and Robbie Lawler. RDA’s main wheelhouse is his grappling – though his pressure-based striking is not to be underestimated. Dos Anjos is a third-degree black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu and has nine career victories via submission.

Covington comes into this match riding the momentum of his five-fight winning streak and controversial remarks on the mic. The former D1 wrestler enters the Octagon looking to grapple with his opponent and suffocate them, slowly zapping their energy. His striking is aggressive but not the most technically refined, serving as a way to initiate his grappling.

This looks like it could very well be a grappling affair. Covington will certainly want to get on top of dos Anjos – especially considering he will be the bigger fighter – but the Brazilian is no slouch on the mat.
