Robert Whittaker and Yoel Romero will play it back again, as the two fighters will do battle for the second time in the main event of UFC 225. Whittaker, who won the first match at UFC 213, is the -260 favorite with Romero coming back at +200.
The first fight between Whittaker and Romero played out as many people would have predicted, with Romero winning the early rounds thanks to his explosiveness and wrestling while Whittaker’s cardio and volume striking ultimately won him the fight in the later rounds.
Whittaker has not fought since UFC 213, as he suffered a staph infection, which derailed a title defense against Luke Rockhold at UFC 221.
Romero stepped into Whittaker’s shoes and filled in for the champion to compete against Rockhold. Romero won that fight using his striking more than his wrestling, as his power got to Rockhold and led to yet another third-round stoppage victory for “The Soldier of God.”
