Strikeforce Challengers 11

Roger Bowling will be looking to settle some unfinished business against Bobby Voelker on Friday and pay off for his supporters at Strikeforce Challengers 11.

The card will feature that main event Welterweight fight between Bowling (8-0) and Voelker (22-8), plus undefeated Billy Evangelista (10-0) will return to action against Waachiim Spiritwolf (8-6-1) in a catchweight fight, and Heavyweight Lavar Johnson (14-3) will take on Virgil Zwicker (8-1).

Rounding out the main card will be lightweights Dominic Clark (4-0 MMA, 0-0 SF) and David "Tarzan" Douglas (4-2), plus a women’s matchup between undefeated Shana Olsen (4-0) and Julia Budd (0-0).

Bowling and Voelker's first fight was cut short when Bowling suffered an eye poke and was unable to continue. Bowling (-275 at {URL=…}Sportsbook{/URL}) was ahead on all scorecards when the fight was called and was awarded the technical decision. Voelker (+275) gets a chance to avenge the loss, but will have to approach this fight differently to have a chance of evening up the score. {B}Bet Voelker vs Bowling Odds at {URL=…}Sportsbook{/URL}{/B}

Evangelista looks to be getting an easy return to action against an opponent that has a hard time putting two wins together. Spiritwolf is coming off a loss to Delson Heleno just last month and will likely be out-classed and beaten up by an eager Evangelista, who returns to action after almost a year.

This fight has a good chance of going the distance when you look at Evangelista’s record for taking fights deep. {B}Bet Evangelista vs Spiritwolf Odds at {URL=…}Sportsbook{/URL}{/B}

Johnson (-280 {URL=…}Sportsbook{/URL}) at  hasn’t lost a fight since 2008 and is currently on a six-fight win streak, all by KO or TKO. Zwicker (+220) was on an eight-fight win streak of his own before running into Cody Goodale last April, when he lost via decision. This fight has two heavy hitters who don’t like to leave it to a judge’s decision, so expect some fireworks.

Clark has looked impressive in his first three fights and has two submission victories already to his credit. This fight against Douglas will be his Strikeforce debut as well as his toughest test thus far in his short MMA career. Douglas was on a five-fight win streak before Justin Wilcox put a stop to it at Strikeforce - Carano vs. Cyborg with a rear-naked-choke victory over a year ago.

Undefeated Olsen makes her Strikeforce debut against unknown Budd. Olsen was pushed to the distance against Yoko Takahashi her last time out, but managed to win a unanimous decision. Budd will be looking to put her Muay Thai skills to the test, but will be in tough in her pro debut.
