Former UFC Heavyweight champ Tim Sylvia will headline Titan Fighting Championship 16 this Friday night, and most experts expect it to be an easy payday for the Maniac.
Sylvia (28-6) will be a heavy -675 favorite at Sportsbook against Abe Wagner (7-3), who was originally supposed to face Todd Duffee on this card - Sylvia was brought in as a replacement.
Now Wagner must face a former two-time UFC Heavyweight champion with vast experience and an attitude to prove to everyone that he’s still somebody in the Heavyweight division.

Wagner will be a Sportsbook +450 underdog against Sylvia and will need to land a big shot to score an upset. He has never faced an opponent with the skill-set of Sylvia and will likely be outclassed from the Sportsbook bell. Wagner’s fighting style does not match up well against Sylvia, who will most likely kick-box from a distance until he wears down Wagner enough to finish him off.
The TFC 16 odds menu will also feature Rudy Bears (12-6) matched up against Jason High (12-3). Bears has come over from the Bellator Fighting Championships for his first fight with TFC, and despite coming off an impressive first-round KO of Chad Reiner, Bears will be a huge Sportsbook +350 underdog Friday night.
Jason High is on a three-fight win streak and will be coming off a split decision win over MMA legend Hayato Sakurai. The best MMA betting line on High is a -485 number at Sportsbook, which seems a bit expensive.
At those prices this fight looks like a decent upset opportunity when you look at the high KO and submission percentages Bears’ record shows. With a +350 upset pa day Rudy Bears looks worth the risk.
The other upset opportunity on the TFC16 card is in the Gary Tapasua (4-1) vs. Drew McFedries (8-6) matchup. McFedries will be a Sportsbook -275 favorite despite dropping five of his last eight fights. Tapasua is on a four-fight win streak, all won by KO in the first or second round. With an MMA betting line of +215 this fight could easily go against McFedries.
The safest money on the TFC16 card looks like the Rich Clementi (39-17-1) vs. Aaron Derrow (8-2) fight. Clementi will take full advantage of his submission skills and will likely tap out Derrow in the first or second round. As the Sportsbook -360 favorite he's the bet that seems to have the biggest edge.
