UFC 150: Henderson vs. Edgar II Odds

MMA betting action on four of the UFC 150 fights is now available, and as expected the new Lightweight champion is the favorite to defend his title.

The UFC Lightweight championship is one of the toughest to retain in MMA. In just over two years three different fighters have worn the Lightweight strap, and now it’s Benson Henderson’s turn to try and keep a title in the most stacked division in MMA.

Henderson is currently a -190 UFC odds favorite over Frankie Edgar at 5Dimes, despite already winning a unanimous decision over him. That price is a real bargain on a fighter who is bigger and has far better technique than his opponent. Henderson knows what to expect and should come out more aggressive this time around.

If Edgar is able to put forward his championship heart and find a way to adjust his style to beat Henderson he will currently pay +165 at 5Dimes. He will need to utilize his takedowns and beat Henderson to the punch with fast combinations.

UFC 150 - Henderson vs Edgar II

Dustin Pague    -185
Chico Camus    160

Ken Stone    -105
Erik Perez    -115

Dennis Bermudez    -280
Tommy Hayden    240

Max Holloway    -115
Justin Lawrence    -105

Nik Lentz    -400
Eiji Mitsuoka    325

Jared Hamman    -110
Michael Kuiper    -110

Melvin Guillard    255
Donald Cerrone    -310

Ed Herman    170
Jake Shields    -200

Yushin Okami    -600
Buddy Roberts    450

Frank Edgar    170
Benson Henderson    -200

Jake Shields is coming at an affordable price against Ed Herman as the 5Dimes -190 favorite. Shields should be taking on top-ranked fighters, but in his first UFC fight at Middleweight a tuneup bout makes perfect sense. UFC odds on Shields at 5Dimes are currently at -190 and likely won’t get any cheaper this week.

Herman is on a three-fight win streak but does not have the striking skills to dominate Shields in a standing battle. Once Shields kicks his wrestling into high gear Herman will need all of his jiu-jitsu skills to keep from getting tapped out.

Donald Cerrone is a 5Dimes -300 favorite over Melvin Guillard, who would pay UFC odds of +250 for the upset. Guillard has the KO power to win this fight at any time, but it’s the technique of Cerrone that gives the former WEC champ the big edge in this one.
