UFC 178 Betting: Johnson vs. Cariaso

UFC 178 is slated to go down this weekend and MMA betting fans will have a stacked card on which to wager. Sportsbook already has moneyline and prop bet options available on all six main card fights including the main event for the UFC Flyweight championship.

Demetrious Johnson will defend his UFC Flyweight title for the fifth time in only 20 months at UFC 178. The latest contender will be Chris Cariaso and oddsmakers at Sportsbook currently have him handicapped as the +900 underdog. Action on the champ is currently coming with a -1375 UFC odds price, but better value can be found in the 29 prop bet options available.

Johnson wins inside the distance at +100 or the UNDER 4.5 rounds at -105 look like more appealing options when one considers that Johnson has stopped two of his last three opponents. Add on a fight doesn’t go to decision at -110 for a potential parlay payday if Johnson can finish the weakest opponent he’s faced in over three years.

The co-main event on the UFC 178 fight card will feature the Octagon debut of former Bellator Lightweight champ Eddie Alvarez. He will face Donald Cerrone in what promises to be a great fight for the ages. UFC 178 odds on this fight at Sportsbook are currently even at -110, and in a three-round fight anything could happen.

Better value may be found in the UFC 178 prop odds options at Sportsbook. Cerrone by KO/TKO will pay +493 while the same bet on Alvarez will pay +490. The OVER/UNDER is set at 2.5 rounds and is also dead even at -115.

Irish sensation Conor McGregor will step up in competition at UFC 178 when he faces contender Dustin Poirier. Currently UFC 178 odds at Sportsbook have McGregor listed as the -265 favorite while the Poirier upset is worth +225. We like the prop bet option on McGregor winning inside the distance at -125.
