UFC 185 Betting: Pettis faces Dos Anjos

The UFC 185 main event on March 14 offers up a matchup between Lightweight division champion Anthony Pettis and No. 1 contender Rafael dos Anjos.

Pettis has been a wrecking machine since winning the Lightweight title and we expect that trend to continue at UFC 185. Currently MMA odds at online sportsbook 5Dimes have Pettis handicapped as the -440 favorite, while a dos Anjos win would pay +350 on the UFC betting lines.

We think the real MMA betting value in this fight can be found in the 29 5Dimes prop options. Pettis inside the distance at -135 and the -175 option on the fight doesn’t go to a decision look to have the best value.

Carla Esparza will look to defend her new UFC Women’s Strawweight title for the first time when she puts it on the line against Joanna Jedrzejczyk. This is a classic striker vs. wrestler matchup with current UFC 185 odds leaning slightly in Esparza’s favor at -160. The Jedrzejczyk upset would pay +140 to win.

If you like Esparza it makes more sense to opt for the 5Dimes +160 prop option that she wins via decision. If you think Jedrzejczyk can keep the fight standing then the +361 option on her winning inside the distance is the most likely way she will find victory.

As well, Johny Hendricks and Matt Brown will battle to remain at the top of the contender heap in the UFC Welterweight division when they meet in the Octagon. Current UFC 185 odds at 5Dimes have Hendricks handicapped as the -325 favorite while the Brown win would pay +265.

We think Hendricks’ wrestling will be the difference and expect him to grind out a unanimous decision win (-115). We also like OVER 3.5 rounds at -135 and fight goes to a decision at -170.
