UFC 200: Brock Lesnar vs Mark Hunt Odds

Unexpected MMA news broke leading into UFC 199 that former UFC Heavyweight Champion and current WWE wrestler Brock Lesnar would make a return to the Octagon at UFC 200 on July 9. It was confirmed that Lesnar would indeed compete at the mega event, and his opponent was named shortly after.

Mark Hunt will step up to fight Lesnar. Hunt is 12-10 in his MMA career. Lesnar opened as the favorite at -200, with Hunt coming back at +175. These odds quickly shifted to Lesnar at -116, Hunt +103. Then the odds completely jumped the fence, with Lesnar becoming a +173 underdog and Hunt as a -197 favorite. Expect to see a lot more movement.

During his run in the UFC, which was interrupted on several occasions due to an illness, Lesnar was the most polarizing fighter on the roster. From 2008 to 2011, Lesnar went 4-3 in the UFC, but he was on the wrong end of one-sided beatdowns in his last two fights against Cain Velasquez and Alistair Overeem.

Lesnar was last seen in the WWE ring at Wrestlemania 32 where he defeated Dean Ambrose in a No Holds Barred Street Fight. He’s still under contract with the WWE, but this is being viewed as a “one-off” opportunity, before he returns to the squared circle for WWE’s SummerSlam event later in the summer.
