“Polish ladies rule the world.”
Those were Joanna Jedrzejczyk’s words about her upcoming matchup with fellow Polish striker Karolina Kowalkiewicz at UFC 205. The UFC strawweight title will be on the line when these two undefeated fighters meet at Madison Square Garden for the UFC’s first event in New York.
Jedrzejczyk is a hefty favorite with the reigning champion coming in at -380, as Kowalkiewicz is coming back at +290.
Jedrzejczyk has some of the most beautifully refined and technical striking skills in MMA today. Though technically gorgeous, Jedrzejczyk is aggressive and brutal in the cage. Just look at what she did to Jessica Penne’s face if you have doubts about how vicious she is.
Kowalkiewicz has an excellent Muay Thai skill set, much like her opponent, though she isn’t necessarily as violent. Kowalkiewicz has shown that she is an expert at adjusting her game plan to what her opponent gives her while keeping herself out of danger.
This will be intriguing, as Jedrzejczyk has yet to face an opponent who will want to stand and strike with her. This has Fight of the Night written all over it.
- Joanna Jedrzejczyk -375
- Karolina Kowalkiewicz +285
