If you went with all the favorites on the UFC Fight Night 24 card it would have been a huge payday for you, as the fight card produced only one upset out of 12 fights.
Phil Davis showed that he can be safe MMA money in the upper ranks of the UFC Light Heavyweight division when he out-wrestled and controlled MMA legend Antonio Rogerio Nogueira. After Nogueira stuffed every double-leg takedown that Davis attempted in the first round, the NCAA wrestling champ switched to a single-leg attack and took Nogueira down at will in the second and third. He won a unanimous decision and paid -255 at Sportsbook.
Anthony Johnson reminded us that his wrestling skills are some of the best in the Welterweight division with a dominate ground assault on Dan Hardy. Johnson even got the best of it when the two were standing and looked bigger, faster, and stronger than the U.K. striker, winning a unanimous decision. Johnson paid -160 at Sportsbook and took a big step up in the division.
Amir Sadollah was able to wear down Damarques Johnson for a decision win of his own. The best price on Sadollah was a -240 line at Sportsbook, and he was easily worth the risk. Damarques Johnson looked good in the first round but quickly tanked in the second and became ineffective for the rest of the fight.
The fight that was handicapped the closest on the UFC Fight Night 24 card was the rematch of the famous Chan Sung Jung vs. Leonard Garcia war. This time the two fighters were a little more cautious in the first round, but they started throwing heavy shots in the second. After a Jung flying knee landed, Garcia went down with Jung on top of him. Jung then locked in a twister neck crank and submitted Garcia with only one second left in the second round. Jung paid out -105 at Sportsbook.
