UFC Betting: MacDonald vs. Saffiedine

Halifax will be the scene for Saturday night’s UFC Fight Night 54 fight card which will feature a Canadian-heavy lineup - including heir apparent Canadian UFC poster-boy Rory MacDonald facing Tarec Saffiedine in the main event.

MacDonald is poised to get his Welterweight title shot with an impressive win at UFC Fight Night 54, and oddsmakers at Sportsbook currently have him handicapped as the -550 favorite. Action on Saffiedine will pay +425 if he can beat the odds, but better options can be found in the 29 prop bets.

In a five-rounder we like MacDonald wearing down his opponent before the final bell for a +175 payday on the MacDonald wins inside the distance prop. Add the UNDER 4.5 rounds at +145 and the MacDonald wins by TKO/KO at +300 for a UFC Fight Night 54 odds fat parlay payday that has a good chance to pay out.

In the co-main event Bantamweight contenders Raphael Assuncao and Bryan Caraway will battle for what could be a potential title shot in early 2015. Sportsbook has Assuncao handicapped as the -270 favorite while a Caraway win will pay +230.

We think there’s better value in the -145 option on Assuncao winning by decision, but the safest prop bet on this fight has to be the UFC odds -245 OVER option on 2.5 rounds.

Lightweights Chad Laprise vs. Yosdenis Cedeno will also be on the UFC Fight Night 54 card. The Ultimate Fighter Nations Sportsbook Laprise is undefeated in his MMA career and is the current -260 UFC odds favorite to win on Saturday night.

Cedeno does have a record of 7-1 in his last eight fights, but he’ll have to beat odds of +220 to bring his UFC record to 2-1. We like this one to go the distance as well, so the fight goes to decision at -140 and the OVER 2.5 rounds at -160 look to have the best value.
