The long awaited return of Carlos Condit to the UFC Welterweight division will go down this weekend when he faces Thiago Alves at UFC Fight Night 67. The card will also feature Charles Oliveira in his bid for an eventual Featherweight title shot as well as K.J. Noons fighting in a Welterweight matchup.
Current UFC betting lines at Bovada have Condit handicapped as the -270 favorite to beat Alves. That line is up in price from the initial -230 offering as more fight fans opt for his successful return. Upset odds on Alves are currently offering a +210 payday.
We expect Condit’s striking technique to be the difference in this fight. He should be able to pick apart his opponent over five rounds for what should be a late-round finish. Alves has shown the ability to gas out late in fights, and in a five rounder time should work against him.
The co-main event will feature Charles Oliveira facing Nik Lentz. Both fighters are in need of a win to be considered contenders in the Featherweight division. This will be a rematch between the two, with the first meeting having ended with an illegal kick and an eventual no-contest result.
Oliveira was dominating the first fight and should do the same this weekend. He should be well worth the UFC odds risk of -270 to win. Lentz will need a special performance if he’s going to pay on the +210 upset option currently being offered on him at Bovada.
K.J. Noons is currently a +105 MMA odds underdog in his fight against Alex Oliveira. This one is closely matched with both fighters preferring to strike. Whoever lands the first big shot will likely walk out of the Octagon victorious. We think Oliveira’s power will be the difference and like the -135 option currently available on him at Bovada.
