Former elite Strikeforce fighters will be making their UFC debuts on May 18 on the UFC on FX: Belfort vs. Rockhold card, and sportsbooks are already offering some affordable lines on three main card fights.
Headlining the event will be two of the top Middleweight fighters in the world. Former Strikeforce Middleweight champion Luke Rockhold looks to start his bid for a UFC Middleweight title shot with a win over “The Phenom” Vitor Belfort.
The Sportsbook between Rockhold and Belfort would be right in the mix to take on the Sportsbook of the upcoming title fight between Anderson Silva and Chris Weidman.
Belfort is a rejuvenated fighter of late with impressive bouts against the top fighters in both the Middleweight and Light Heavyweight divisions. Despite facing a fighter who has never fought in the UFC, Belfort is currently an MMA odds +105 underdog at Sportsbook.
Rockhold’s elite kickboxing and grappling skills should be able to push him to the top of the division. The question that needs to be answered with Rockhold before one makes a wager is how he will react to the pressure of headlining a televised UFC fight card in his debut.
Action on Rockhold comes at the very affordable UFC odds price of -115 at Sportsbook.
The jiu-jitsu skills of the other former Strikeforce Middleweight champion on the UFC on FX fight card are enough to make Ronaldo Souza an MMA odds -225 favorite at Sportsbook in his UFC debut. He faces the hard-hitting Constantinos Philippou, who will currently pay +185.
If Philippou can gain the upper hand early in the fight he could get the upset in Souza’s debut with a beat-down victory.
Evan Dunham will have to beat the odds at UFC on FX if he wants to stay relevant in the UFC Lightweight division. He will currently pay +165 at Sportsbook if he can outlast Dos Anjos.
Currently coming with a -200 option at Sportsbook, Dos Anjos is looking to stretch his win streak to four straight.
