As the NFL SuperContest at the Sportsbook Las Vegas SuperBook continues to pull in entries at a record pace, the biggest sign-up period will kick off this Friday with the fifth annual SuperContest Weekend. The event is scheduled for Friday and Saturday and features a college and pro football seminar plus a golf scramble event and raffle in which contestants can win one of six free entries into the world’s largest football contest.
Last year, the SuperContest saw the Sportsbook Rounding Again take home more than $914,000 by scoring 60.5 points out of a possible 85 after picking five NFL games against the spread each week for 17 weeks. This season, the prize pool could top $3 million with the Sportsbook taking home more than $1 million depending on how many people sign up over the last three weekends leading up to Week 1 of the NFL season.
SuperContest Weekend was created to bring friends and fellow bettors together so they can talk football and share predictions regarding who they think will be overrated and underrated this year along with who they are picking to win the Super Bowl. And of course, sign up for the SuperContest a couple weeks before the action gets underway.
The football handicapping panels will take place Friday night at 6 p.m., with the pro football discussion involving JT The Brick, Gill Alexander, Marc Lawrence, Rufus Peabody and Bernie Fratto. Speaking on college football will be Ken Thomson, Kenny White, Lee Sterling, Joseph Lisi, Chris Fallica and Dave Cokin. Those looking to hear from these experts will not want to miss this part of SuperContest Weekend.
Then on Saturday, the golf scramble has become one of the weekend’s most popular events. Golfers will tee off at Las Vegas Country Club in the morning and compete for prizes awarded at the reception Saturday night where free entries will also be given away later during the raffle. Tickets for the raffle can be earned a number of different ways, including 10 for each SuperContest entry (up to two) and one for every $20 football futures ticket.
