Las Vegas Expert Betting Picks: NHL, NCAAB, NBA All-Star Weekend

Dennis Smith Jr. #5 of the New York Knicks handles the ball in a game against the Detroit Pistons at Little Caesars Arena on February 08, 2019 in Detroit, Michigan.

Vegas veteran Benjamin Eckstein, author of America’s Line, brings three decades of experience to make weekly picks in his “Ecks & Bacon” column.

LAS VEGAS — Not ready to dive into the new Alliance of American Football just yet, but there’s plenty of action on the board this weekend to check out.

NHL Pick

Starting on the NHL ice, gonna hitch a ride on the Zamboni tonight, down in Carolina, and take the Hurricanes over the Oilers. The ’Canes have been rock solid at home, winning six of the last eight, while Edmonton has been having all sorts of problems, and has lost eight of the last nine. Not buying Oil this evening!

Not gonna drop any cash on this game, but thought you might like some spread stats on the college hoop board. Looking at the Atlantic 10 Conference where Davidson is hosting St. Joseph’s. The Wildcats from North Carolina share the A10 penthouse with Virginia Commonwealth at the moment with an 18-6 straight-up record.

Davidson’s overall spread log sits at 13-10, 7-3 at home and 11-8 as a favorite. The Hawks from Philly are under water with an 11-14 straight-up mark, and WAY under water against the spread, sitting at 8-16-1 overall, an ugly 2-7 on the road and 3-8 as an underdog. Actually, after reading my own stuff, gonna take a little tickle on David.

NBA All-Star Weekend Pick

Now we move down to Charlotte, North Carolina for the NBA All-Star Weekend. Always a fun few days, and of course, we’re looking forward to the dunk festival. With New York City cement running through my veins, gotta drop some love on Dennis Smith Jr. to rock the Spectrum Center. Junior would love to show the world that the Mavericks made a big mistake including him in the trade to the NYK, and we can see the GIANT chip on his shoulder all the way out in Vegas.

In the trey point contest, throwing down on Buddy Hield at +500 and Danny Green at +1200. Close with the Skills comp and I’m buying Jayson Tatum at around +600.

As for the game itself, not interested in laying -6 with the LeBrons, but will go under the INFLATED total which is sitting at around 310.5.

And plz, PLZ hit me on Twitter over the weekend, @vegasvigorish, just in case anything pops on the college hoop board.
