LAS VEGAS — Only had two selections last week, and both cashed.

Looking to continue the perfecto, let’s turn to soccer.

Women’s World Cup Pick

Tough call to make in Paris, where the USWNT takes on France. Obviously, we’ll be rooting our soccer balls off for the USA, but with home field, and a talented squad, it’s very tough to pick against Les Bleues.  So, naturally, we turn to the OVER/UNDER total which is 2.5, and OVER is the play. The Red, White & Blue have outscored their opponents 30-3 in the last eight World Cup matches. Yeah, THIRTY to THREE.

However, we gotta tell you about home-field advantage. It's a crucial element in all sports, and for the French ladies, it is a true HOME-FIELD ADVANTAGE! Yeah, I’m yelling. They are 31-1-3 over the past three and a half years on home soil. And they did beat the USA 3-1 at Le Havre back in January. And if you’re looking for a seat at the Parc des Princes, DON’T bother. My friends in the 7th Arrondissement told me that the price has skyrocketed over $2,000 per.

Also gonna tickle a little prop wager action, and drop a few pennies on a 2-2 draw at +1000 odds and a 3-3 draw at +6000.

MLB Picks

On the baseball board, gonna go west and take a look at San Diego over St. Louis. The Padres send Eric Lauer to the hill, and with the exception of one lousy start, he has been throwing well, despite a 5-7 record. The ugly start came at Colorado, but a whole bunch of pitchers look ugly in the mile-high air. Throw out the game against the Rockies, then go back to May 16, and you’ll see that Lauer has allowed 1, 1, 1, 1, 3 and 1 earned run(s) over his last six starts.

The Cards send Michael Wacha to the bump, and his last four starts have been problematic. Like 24 hits and 12 earned runs over 20 innings. Got out the calculator, pressed the buttons, and it came out to a bulbous 5.40 ERA. Now that they can swing some serious lumber, gotta drop some love on the Fathers.

Also taking a look at an OVER/UNDER total in the Rockies/Dodgers affair tonight. Sure, they combined to score 20 runs last night, and the ball is flying out of Coors Field, but with Hyun-Jin Ryu and his 1.27 ERA on the mound, the big PHAT 12.5 run total seems WAY too high.

PLZ hit me on Twitter over the weekend, @vegasvigorish, just in case anything pops on the baseball diamond.
