Russell Martin #55 is drenched with a cooler of ice water by Walker Buehler #21 and Joc Pederson #31 as they celebrate his two RBI single for a walk-off win against the St. Louis Cardinals in the ninth inning at Dodger Stadium on August 7, 2019 in Los Angeles, California.

Las Vegas Expert Picks: MLB, Preseason NFL, EPL

Vegas veteran Benjamin Eckstein, author of America’s Line, brings three decades of experience to make weekly picks in his “Ecks & Bacon” column.

MLB Pick

LAS VEGAS — Had a ton of questions about the Red Sox-Royals game that was suspended Wednesday night at 4-4 at the end of the ninth inning. The standing rule is that a game needs to go 8.5 innings in order to have a result at the sportsbooks. The game went nine, but almost all the joints are calling the moneyline a push, because there will not be a result until August 22.

However, the 4-4 score at the end of nine innings DID pay the UNDER, with the OVER/UNDER total closing at 11. And if you had the Royals on the runline, which was +1.5 runs, go ahead to the counter and COLLECT your cash, baby, it was a Sportsbook!!!

Gave out a baseball Sportsbook, a soccer Sportsbook and a winning parlay in last week’s column. How am I gonna top 4-0??? Push it to 7-0, BABY!!!

Start tonight with the Dodgers over the D-backs. It’s IMPOSSIBLE to avoid Ferris, oops, Walker Buehler and his 7-0 mark at Dodger Stadium dating back to the middle of last season.

So, obviously, we AIN’T gonna avoid him. Walker’s numbers at home recently are, making up a new word, RIDONKULOUS! Tell me, Eck. How about only one teeny tiny earned run over the last 16 innings, which translates to an invisible 0.56 ERA. And how about 26 Ks in 16 frames. Yeah, TWENTY-SIX!

NFL Preseason Pick

As for tonight’s NFL action, we have had a standing rule of NOT Sportsbook the wallet for any of the exhibition, oops, preseason games, but there are coaches who have OWNED this space. My man @JTFOZ tells me that Minnesota’s Mike Zimmer at 14-7 (66.7%) is one of the three best coaches against the spread in the preseason. You make the call.

EPL Pick

Looking in on the English Premier League tomorrow, and we’ll start out with Watford over Brighton & Hove. The Hornets started last season with four straight wins and should have no problem with the Seagulls.

Why? Because Watford has not lost its Sportsbook league game in any of the past 12 seasons. Yeah, TWELVE seasons. It was six wins and six draws, so we’ll take Watford to win, and just in case, back it up with some cash on the draw.

In the late game, gotta have Tottenham over Aston Villa. You know that I’m Arsenal and my wife is Tottenham, and as much as it pains me to root for the Spurs, don’t wanna leave money on the table. It’s gonna be expensive, but BOY, do we have reasons.

Tottenham has won nine of the last 10 in this matchup, while scoring 24 and conceding just three. Don’t think that the Villans have enough to stay close, but just in case, we’ll back up with a few pennies on the draw at like +450.

PLZ hit me on Twitter over the weekend, @vegasvigorish, just in case anything pops on the baseball diamond.
