Las Vegas Expert Picks: NCAAF Week 4, NFL Week 3

Las Vegas Expert Picks: NCAAF Week 4, NFL Week 3

Vegas veteran Benjamin Eckstein, author of America’s Line, brings three decades of experience to make weekly picks in his “Ecks & Bacon” column.

LAS VEGAS — This is my 150th column for Odds Shark. Looked over the last 149 and found out that we dropped 750 picks on the betting board. And I’m thrilled to announce that my overall record is 740-10. So, of course, I am opening up my brand new selection service biz, and calling it, “TRUST ME, 99% WINNERS.”

NCAAF Picks

Looked over the college slate tonight, and while the spreads don’t thrill me, I’m thinking about going in another direction. Don’t get crazy, and don’t call me names, but how about a three-team moneyline parlay. Taking Utah over USC, Louisiana Tech over Florida International and Boise State over Air Force. And all they have to do is win. By one point or 30, just win, babbeeee!!!

So excited about the Saturday college card that I’m gonna drop TWO 10-point, three-team teasers on you. First up, in the battle of the initials, we’ll take TCU and drop the Horned Frogs from -8 to +2 points against SMU. Staying with the initials, gotta grab UCF and take the Knights down from -11 to -1 point against Pittsburgh. So, it’s basically just win the game, which they have done 28 straight times. Yeah, TWENTY-EIGHT straight (didn’t factor in the one bowl loss to LSU). Close up this tease with Oklahoma State, and bump the Cowboys up from +6.5 to +16.5 points against Texas.

Tease me No. 2 starts up in cheese country and we’ll take Wiscy from -3 to +7 points against Michigan. Then grab Nebraska and drop the Cornhuskers from -13 to -3 points against Illinois. Finish with Washington, and take the Huskies from -6 to +4 points against BYU.

NFL Pick

On to the big boys on Sunday, and will roll with the Ravens +6.5 points over the Chiefs. So, the first two weeks, we have been on and against Baltimore. And thrilled to report a 2-0 best bet record. So, on or against this week? ON! Why? LOVE what John Harbaugh is doing with Lamar Jackson, taking full advantage of his passing and running, and telling the rest of the NFL, guess what you’re gonna see this week.

In the opener, Jackson was 17 of 20 for 324 yards, five TDs and zero INTs. He ran just three times for six yards. Last week, he was 24 of 37 for 272 yards with two TDs and no INTs. However, he took off on 16 runs for 120 yards. So, which Lamar will Kaycee see? Who knows, and that’s what makes the Ravens a delicious underdog. And if you’re not a history buff, Baltimore went to Kansas City last season and covered as a 7-point underdog in a 27-24 loss. Then we found this little gem. Baltimore has covered five of the last six against the AFC West, so we’re gonna, yes, buy the HOOK, and make this our BEST BET, BAABBEEE!!!
