Las Vegas Expert Picks: NFL, NCAAF, World Series, NHL

Las Vegas Expert Picks: NFL, NCAAF, World Series, NHL

Vegas veteran Benjamin Eckstein, author of America’s Line, brings three decades of experience to make weekly picks in his “Ecks & Bacon” column.

LAS VEGAS — Maybe one of the GREAT sports betting weekends EVER. World Series, college football, ice, hoops, NFL, boxing, UFC, soccer, golf, tennis, and, and, AND, Jose Canseco is opening a car wash in Vegas, BAABBEEE!!!

First the picks.

World Series Pick

When Justin Verlander and Stephen Strasburg hooked up, the OVER/UNDER total was 7 and we took the OVER. Most thought we were a little nuts, but the ticket cashed. Tonight, we have Anibal Sanchez vs Zack Greinke and the total is 8. Most people will think we’re nuts, again, but the play is to the UNDER. Sanchez has been a stud in the playoffs, allowing only one earned run over 12 innings. Greinke has been hit harder, for sure, but thinking that his off-speed junk might kinda paralyze the Nationals after they saw 97, 98 and 99 from Verlander and Cole.

NCAAF Pick

Took a little taste of Colorado +13.5 points against USC tonight as the Trojans have only two wins in their last nine on the road. Of course, when the betting world found out about all the BenjBucks we threw at Colorado, yeah, we’re getting into cryptocurrency, the line has dropped to +11.5. Still like the Buffaloes, but make it a light taste.

NHL Pick

Also gonna lace up the skates and tickle the Canucks over the Capitals. Like the way Vancouver is playing, winning six of the last seven, while Washington is coming off a tough OT loss at Edmonton last night.

NFL Pick

On the NFL board, we’re all over the Rams -13 points over the Bengals. Fish & chips, baby! Bangers & mash, baby. A pint of Guinness. Yeah, it’s all happening in London. And if people tell you that the food sucks in England, don’t pay attention. I lived in London for a year in between my sophomore and junior years in college, and actually gained a few pounds. Also nicked a few pieces of stationery from the Houses of Parliament, but plz, keep that on the down low. Oh yeah, football. Everyone was all over Jared Goff after L.A. lost three in a row, but he bounced back with a stellar effort against the Falcons last week, hitting 22 of 37 for 268 yards with two TDs and no INTs.

And just in case you’re wondering about the Rams in London, the last time they rolled over to see the Queen in 2017, they bageled the Cardinals 33-0. They’ve won 19 of the last 23 on the road, while Cincy comes in riding a negative 0-9 perfecto away from home. And if you’re worried about double digits, DON’T! Los Angeles has covered six of the last seven as a DD fave, so, yup, this IS my BEST BET, BAABBEEE!!!

Oh yeah, Canseco. This came to my inbox yesterday:

“Meet and Greet with Jose Canseco at Jose Canseco’s Showtime Car Wash. The Red Carpet Grand Opening in Las Vegas on October 26, 2019.”

Red carpet??? For a FREAKIN’ car wash??? Praying that the carpet is WATERPROOF, Jose!!!
