NRFI Picks today -- Taijuan Walker

NRFI Picks Today: Friday's Slate Opens With A NRFI

What better way to kick off your betting weekend than some NRFI winning picks? I have two picks today, a NRFI in the first game of the day between the Phillies and Cubs and we head into the night with a YRFI bet when the Braves visit the Diamondbacks.

NRFI Pick Today: Philadelphia vs Chicago (-115) at Sportsbook

Philadelphia vs Chicago odds -- 2:20 pm ET

How about a Wrigley NRFI on a Friday afternoon? The Cubbies are tied with the Royals as the best NRFI teams in the Bigs this year with 17-9 records whereas the Phillies are found further down the list at 19th, though, have a 7-5 NRFI road record.

What really sells this pick is the two men on the bump, Taijuan Walker and Colin Rea. These two have combined for six first innings pitched allowing a whopping ZERO runs, two hits and one walk -- elite.

The Cubbies top of the lineup, notably Ian Happ and Kyle Tucker, have been wreaking havoc early in games combining for 12 runs and having batting averages of .286 and .304 respectively so Walker will have to trend lightly there. Meanwhile, there's a lot of danger in Phillies first inning as well with Trea Turner, Bryce Harper and Kyle Schwarber combining for 15 first inning runs so this certainly won't be a walk in the park but I'm backing the arms in this early battle.

YRFI Pick Today: Atlanta vs Arizona (-106) at Sportsbook

Atlanta vs Arizona odds -- 9:40 pm ET

YRFI bettors should be licking their chops at this matchup with the Braves tied with the Orioles as the best YRFI teams in MLB while the D-Backs aren't far behind tied for fourth with the Rays.

The starters leave this as a no doubter as Chris Sale has really struggled out of the gate with opposing hitters possessing a .400 batting average and he has an ugly 9.00 ERA across five outings. Similarly, Zac Gallen also has a 9.00 ERA in the first inning through his five starts and a .304 average against.
