Ovechkin's 39 goals in 59 games put his scoring pace at 0.66 goals per game and have him sitting at 892 career goals.

If he continues this pace for the remaining seven games of the season he'd pot another 4.6 goals, breaking the 894 Wayne Gretzky record with a few games to spare. He's starting to cut it close, but I trust Ovechkin and the Capitals to really push for this mark down the stretch. With Ovi already on pace, I think the -480 odds at Sportsbook to break Gretzky's record are a safe bet. These odds might continue to move more and more in the minus money, as just a few weeks ago they were +190 for Ovi to break the record.
