Outlier is a great option if you enjoy betting on sports and finding useful edges that can help you win more bets. Hundreds of thousands of sports bettors have utilized Outlier to compare betting lines, extract useful analytics, find arbitrage betting opportunities, and see actionable insights.
There are two options for Outlier subscriptions: “Premium” and “Pro.” Premium is the standard package ($19.99/mo.) which has fewer bells and whistles than Pro ($129.99/mo.). Both options provide users with real time injury reports, odds comparisons, line movement tracking, advanced data, and trending insights. A limited time free trial is also available.
The Pro version, which is geared toward serious bettors, provides additional features like a list of Positive EV bets, an arbitrage tool and a list of bet boosts at various sportsbooks.
My name is Tony Farmer and I’ve been producing written and video content in the sports writing industry for years. Currently I write for Odds Shark and host THE HUDDLE podcast. My reputation in this industry is important to me, so I’ll never recommend or say positive things about a product I don’t believe in.
How to Use Outlier
In the upper right corner of the Outlier app, you can easily select which sportsbook apps you bet with. For instance, if you typically wager at FanDuel, BetMGM, Caesars and Bet365, then check those boxes which display your favorite app’s betting opportunities. As Outlier shows intriguing wagers at one of your sportsbooks, click it and you can seamlessly execute your bet in a few clicks.
For instance, Outlier’s “Insights” section pointed out that, “Justin Jefferson has exceeded the 26.5 yard longest reception prop in five straight games.” By clicking that display, you’ll see which of your favorite sports betting apps has this prop available and place the wager at one or all of them very quickly. And I do mean your sportsbooks because Outlier allows you to customize your experience and only see books you have an account with.

Outlier Pro Review
As the name implies, Outlier Pro is geared more toward professional bettors. Sharp bettors logging into Outlier Pro for the first time will see familiar terms like Devig, “Kelly” (Kelly Criterion), Arbitrage, EV (Expected Value).
If you’re unfamiliar with these terms, then you’re probably better suited for Outlier Premium because the pro version could be intimidating or confusing to a casual bettor. However, Outlier Pro does provide a “Learn” tab with information about these concepts. For those who are familiar with this sports betting vernacular, Outlier Pro will save you a ton of time because it combines a lot of tools into one place.
The folks at Outlier get feedback from actual professional bettors who use their tool successfully so it's constantly being upgraded. For instance, in March and April of 2025, they added a market width tool along with variation coefficient and a multi-book oddsview.
The EV+ option in Outlier Pro provides a long list of positive EV options which saves bettors a lot of time hunting for games and lines that offer good value. Keep reading to see what my experience was like using Outlier Pro.
Outlier Premium Review
Outlier Premium is geared more for recreational bettors who are looking to gain an edge and increase their win %. For new users getting the hang of Outlier, I recommend clicking your favorite sport at the top of the screen and then selecting “Games” at the bottom. Upcoming matchups in your selected sport appear with a ton of valuable data and the best available lines. Click the individual teams to unveil more layers of data that can be broken down into player props, team props, and game props.
The Premium tool analyzes how similar players perform by position against a specific defense in their most recent matchups. For instance, if you're researching LeBron James' Points + Assists versus the Celtics, you'll of course see how James has performed in his Last 5-20 games, and also see how Boston has defended forwards (like James) recently.
Outlier has an app and desktop version and can be used to gain an edge while betting the following sports: NFL, NCAA football, NCAA basketball, NBA, WNBA, MLB, NHL, and several different soccer leagues have recently been added as well.
Outlier Strengths & Weaknesses
- Constant Improvements
The folks at Outlier are in close contact with successful professional sports bettors who constantly give them feedback to improve the app. The result is an app that is improved on a regular basis.
- EV+ Wagers
Outlier does the math for you and compiles a list of Plus EV (Expected Value) wagers that, when bet consistently over time, are theoretically expected to yield a profit.
- Intuitive and Aesthetic App
Simply put, the Outlier App, is clean and smooth. The well-organized platform is already extremely easy on the eyes, but is also constantly being upgraded to be more visually appealing as well.
- Customizable Experience
Outlier allows customers to enter the sportsbooks they use into its app, so that your screen isn't cluttered with info about sportsbooks you don't have access to. Like a trusted T-ball coach, Outlier puts your bet on a tee, and with a couple clicks transfers you to your sportsbook so you can hit your bet out of the park.
Weaknesses
- Outlier Pro Could Be Intimidating To Newcomers
Outlier Pro is a fantastic tool, but someone who just started betting could be overwhelmed by the lingo and tool available in Outlier Pro. Our recommendation is to stick with Outlier Premium until you feel more comfortable jumping to Outlier Pro.
- Data Limited To Major Sports
Outlier has a large selection of sports (outlined above) but more niche sports like NASCAR, UFC, and Lacrosse are not available.
- No Android App
For now, Outlier is only available for Apple iPhone users and via a desktop version. Android users, for now, can only use the app via the internet without an app.
- Name Confusion
The Outlier Sports Betting app is sometimes confused with Outlier AI, due to their similar names and similar colors in their logo. These are two separate entities. The Outlier Sports Betting app has extremely positive reviews (4.9 stars in the App Store) and that's not always the case with Outlier AI. This can cause confusion when researching the app.
My experience with Outlier
My Outlier experience was very positive and I found both tools (Premium and Pro) to be well worth the money.
In Outlier Pro, the “Arbitrage” and “Middle Bets” tools are tremendous and honestly a ton of fun as I find myself refreshing the tab regularly looking for arb or middle opportunities whenever I have the app open. The EV+ tab displays a long list of positive EV bets across several sports with the EV math done for me. I found the “Boosts” tab to be a great way to stay abreast of promotional opportunities without logging into each of my individual sports betting apps.
I had a great experience with Outlier Premium too. As someone who enjoys betting NFL props, I really enjoyed the target share feature within a players profile which can be broken down by redzone targets. This type of information can be valuable for bettors who enjoy anytime TD props or those examining the impact of certain injuries.
My only words of caution with using Outlier is that bettors should use critical thinking skills while analyzing Outlier’s trends, rather than blindly following trends. For instance, during the 2024 season after 49ers RB Christian McCaffrey was injured, props for his backup RB Jordan Mason appeared in the app with trends related to Mason’s recent performances. However, Mason’s recent games when he was a backup are much less relevant to his current situation so those trends should be taken with a grain of salt.
Improvements To Outlier
Since Outlier’s iOS launch two years ago, it’s evolved and changed in a number of ways. The company is growing extremely fast and new features are added regularly based on feedback from users.
There are times when new features are announced as only being available on the web version of Outlier and coming soon for app users. I recommend users get comfortable with both versions of Outlier in case you fall in love with a new feature that’s not available on the app yet.
Below are examples of some recent improvements implemented by the Outlier team:
- Image
November 2024: Soccer betting markets added. That means you'll find English Premier League, La Liga, MLS, Series A, Ligue 1, and Bundesliga.
- Image
October 2024: Filtering options improved. In the Outlier Strategies feature, bettors now allow to filter player props by splits like “without a key teammate” or “against bottom 10 defenses.”
- Image
May 2024: Days of rest filters added. Curious how an NBA player performs when they’re on two days rest compared to how they do when they’re coming off a back-to-back? This feature allows you to compare that data and get an edge in the player prop market.
- Image
November 2023: Enhancements made to the matchup screen to allow bettors to see valuable data like strength of schedule and strength of victory to evaluate each opponent accurately. A spider chart compares each team in key metrics like 3rd down conversion % and redzone efficiency.
- Image
October 2023: Added “Target Share” data which details the % of targets that skill position players receive over a given period of time. This can be filtered by redzone targets as well. For instance, at one point during the 2024 NFL season, the tool showed me that Packers TE Tucker Kraft was leading the team in redzone targets %.
- Image
October 2023: Added advanced filters for individual player performance such as “pressure by opposing defense” and “run vs. pass play %” With these tools you can compare how a QB performs when they’re facing defenses which are more or less effective at creating pressure.

Outlier’s History
Users who enjoy Outlier can thank a lesser known product called Colorcast for paving the way for Outlier’s success. Colorcast, a social sports talk app, was launched by Outlier CEO Evan Kirkham in 2019 as a way to connect sports fans with alternative announcers during sporting events.
Colorcast partnered with major sportsbooks to offer relevant data related to oddsmakers lines. As it turns out, there was a strong appetite amongst sports bettors for the unique nuggets Colorcast was providing. Outlier’s operating system launched in January of 2023 and quickly became a favorite amongst novice and advanced bettors.
