Can Aaron Judge fix New York's recent road struggles? Yankees vs Orioles Betting Preview

MLB Same-Game Parlay May 9: Astros vs Yankees (+475)

MLB same-game parlays are the bomb. They're especially fun when you toss in two star-studded clubs like the New York Yankees and Houston Astros.

We're breaking down the Astros vs Yankees contest this Thursday at 5:05 p.m. ET. Here's my MLB same-game parlay for this AL matchup, where I break down the three parlay legs I need to hit:

Astros vs Yankees Same-Game Parlay: May 9

The Game: Astros vs Yankees - 6:05 p.m. ET

BetOdds
Aaron Judge OVER 1.5 Total Bases-105
Ronel Blanco OVER 4.5 Strikeouts+130
Yankees ML-130
Overall+475

Same-Game Parlay Pick No. 1: Judge OVER 1.5 Total Bases (-105)

First off, it's crazy that Judge's season has been so mediocre that we can bet his OVERs at such solid value. But I digress.

The real No. 99 is rounding back into shape, and I'm especially keen on this matchup Thursday. Judge is 9-for-18 in his last five games with two homers, four doubles, and a 1.647 OPS. He's absolutely nuking baseballs again and limiting his strikeouts. Thank God.

More than anything, I love Judge's matchup vs Ronel Blanco, an Astros arm who's allowed four homers in his last three starts. I like the Judge to homer prop at +250, but it's too rich for a same-game parlay, so let's stick to the total bases OVER.

Same-Game Parlay Pick No. 2: Blanco UNDER 4.5 Strikeouts (+130)

You might think because the Yankees bats are big and powerful that this club swings and misses a lot. That's not true at all. In fact, New York is one of the stingiest strikeout clubs in the entire game.

The Bronx Bombers currently rank eighth in MLB with a 22% strikeout rate. Over their last two weeks, the Yankees have performed even better, cutting that clip down to 19.4%.

While Blanco has cashed his strikeout OVERs in four straight, I feel like the Yanks' extra-base pop and improved contact ability will cash us a plus-money UNDER.

Same-Game Parlay Pick No. 3: Yankees ML (-130)

Last but not least — you guessed it — I'm taking the Yankees to win this game straight up at -130. New York has won five in a row (including the first two games of this series) and six of its last seven. For the first time all season, the Yankees offense, starting pitching, and relief core are all flowing in sync. This is the best we've seen New York play all year.

The Astros, meanwhile, remain trapped in the AL West basement. Blanco has been their savior this year, but the Yanks will change that tune in a heartbeat.
