Getting back-to-back championships earned some high expectations for the Georgia Bulldogs, who entered the AP Poll preseason rankings as No. 1 and have stayed on top since.
But, the first step to a national title is earning one of four spots in the CFP:

michigan wolverines becoming favored across the boards
Michigan (12-0 SU, 6-5-1 ATS) got its hardest job done -- defeating Ohio State. Yup, a thrilling 30-24 earned the Wolverines a spot in the Big 10 championship where they meet the offensively-challenged Iowa Hawkeyes.
It's the Wolverines defense, allowing just 10 PPG, that has all eyes on the group. Michigan's offense has been keeping up too, averaging 37.6 PPG across the season.
The Wolverines are massive 23-point favorites against the Hawkeyes which is no surprise. RB Blake Corum has more touchdowns (22) than Iowa's receivers and rushers combined (20). Unless a historical upset happens, there's no doubt Michigan is the -4000 favorite to make the CFP, again.

Georgia looking to continue dynasty for third-straight year
Two years ago, Georgia (12-0 SU, 4-7-1 ATS) snapped a 40-year drought without a championship trophy. Now, Kirby Smart's squad is looking to hoist it for the third straight season. Week 13's victory over Georgia Tech earned them a historic 29th consecutive win.
The Dawgs have a sturdy offensive line, averaging 38.8 PPG (ranked 7th) and earning 7.1 yards per play. Georgia will meet Alabama in the SEC championship, a group that has successfully composed itself after a Week 2 upset.
But, Georgia can sprinkle the ball just about anywhere with 32 rushing touchdowns and 25 receiving touchdowns this year. This football program is still the most lethal program in the country right now until it proves otherwise. According to our odds calculator, -475 implies an 82.61% chance of the Dawgs seeing the CFP.

College Football Win Totals To Bet On
After crunching numbers, here's a quick recap of the best win total bets. If you're looking for a deeper explanation, check out our complete win total page!
Colorado Buffaloes OVER 3 Wins
New head coach Deion Sanders is about to turn this program upside down and after finishing last season 1-11, it's hard to imagine the Buffaloes get worse.
Based on his recent resume at Jackson State, Sanders doesn't take his time rebuilding. The Buffs have already edged wins over TCU, Nebraska and Colorado State. They've got eight more weeks to get us one more win and I can see that happening against groups like the Arizona State Sun Devils (Week 6), Standford Cardinals (Week 7) or the Arizona Wildcats (Week 10).
Notre Dame OVER 9 wins
Sam Hartman, an early Heisman Trophy favorite, is looking like Notre Dame's saving grace. Finally, the Fighting Irish have a veteran, consistent leader behind the snap.

The Wake Forest transfer completed over 63 percent of his tosses in his last season with the Demon Deacons. He posted over 3,700 yards and 38 touchdowns, which pushed him to hold the ACC record in passing touchdowns (110). Now, the senior has stacked over 1,200 yards, 14 touchdowns and no interceptions in his time with the Irish.
Odds to go undefeated in 2023
It's not easy, but it's possible for the best in college football to shine with a perfect record. As always, a full breakdown is at our odds to go undefeated page.

USC Trojans | +500 | -900 |
Washington Huskies | +800 | -2000 |
Odds as of August 3
Only two groups finished last regular season with undefeated records, the Michigan Wolverines (13-0) and the Dawgs (13-0), who went on to win the national title.
Michigan Wolverines (+425)
Since returning from the mess of 2020, the Big Blue have gone 29-3 under Jim Harbaugh. The back-to-back Big 10 champions return to the field this year with the same shining stars in QB J.J. McCarthy and RB Blake Corum, who is a freight train carrying 351 yards and eight touchdowns through four weeks.
USC Trojans (+500)
The Trojans were a lot better than what their 11-3 record last year shows. USC should've competed in the CFP and it's a shame we didn't witness Williams in playoff glory. But, maybe this year we can catch him and Branch put on a show for us. Another group moving onto an intimidating Big 10 conference, USC will want to prove it has what it takes to compete.
How To Read College Football Playoff Odds
At any sportsbook, you’ll see College Football Playoff (CFP) odds listed like so:
Alabama Crimson Tide: YES -260, NO +200
If you’re looking at Alabama’s odds to make it to the postseason at -260 and decided to bet $100 on them, you’d get a payout of $138.46 – your original $100 is returned along with your winnings of $38.46. On the other hand, if you think they will not make the playoffs at +200, that same $100 would get you $300 – you get your $100 back coupled with your prize of $200. Our odds calculator will tell you what you’d win based on the odds and amount bet.
Some sportsbooks only have YES odds to make the college football playoff, especially as we get deeper into the season.
What Is A Futures Bet On NCAA Football?
When you wager on a team’s postseason chances, it’s called a futures bet. This is a bet on events that will happen in time. It can be said that all sports betting is on events that have yet to occur; however, futures can be made weeks or months in advance instead of prior to game day. You could take Clemson to miss the CFP before college football season even starts.
Oddsmakers will adjust the lines as more games are played and teams rise and fall in the standings. We suggest jumping on odds early, so you don’t miss out on great lines. If you wait until closer to bowl season, you could be stuck with odds that don’t have any value.
