Perfect day! Perfect day! After going 0-2 in my Monday outs recorded picks, I went undefeated yesterday. So, the MLB betting gods are fair.
Hopefully they don't come back down on my today, but here are my two MLB outs recorded props for May 15th:
Pick 1: Ranger Suarez Over 18.5 Outs Recorded (+120)
Matchup Preview - Game Time: 6:35 pm ET
As I outlined in my MLB expert picks today, Ranger Suarez has been baseball's best pitcher so far this season. He leads baseball in record and WHIP, and has a 1.50 ERA, too.
But for this type of bet, the key is out deep he goes. Suarez has completed at least 21 outs in four of his last five starts. The only time he hasn't in his last four outings was because the Phils were up 14-3 on the Giants and didn't feel the need to push their starter.
Suarez also has the advantage of being very good against this current Mets lineup. In 79 career at-bats against current NY hitters, Suarez has induced a .190 average and .539 OPS. I'd expect AT LEAST seven strong innings from the Phils pitcher tonight.
Also, the Phillies have yet to lose a game Suarez starts this year, if you're trying to figure out what side to bet in this one, too.
Pick 2: Logan Webb Under 18.5 Outs Recorded (-185)
Matchup Preview - Game Time: 9:40 pm ET
Logan Webb has hit a bit of a bump lately. After a great start to the season, he's allowed 12 runs across his last three outings, seeing his ERA rise from 2.33 to 3.38. The Giants workhorse has also failed to pitch past the fourth inning in two of his last three outings — that's nowhere near 18.5 outs.
I know the under on Webb's outs recorded line is a pretty steep line, but I think that's the direction this one's going. On top of recent performance, Webb just hasn't been very good against the Dodgers in his career. Against current Los Angeles hitters, Webb has allowed a .340 average and .976 OPS.
In his last start against the Dodgers, Webb lasted just 3.2 innings and allowed five earned runs.
